The 2025 Honda HR-V in North York, Ontario
The Stylish and Sporty Honda HR-V is redesigned for 2025 to bring it closer to the other modern offerings from Honda:
- Clean, sporty and upscale exterior and interior styling
- Standard 7-inch digital instrumentation includes the tachometer, digital speedometer and multi-information display (separate analog speedometer included)
- Standard 7-inch color touchscreen with Apple CarPlay® & Android Auto™ compatibility
- Available HD 9-inch color touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay® & Android Auto™ compatibility (EX-L)
- For the new model year, the vehicle brings Real Time All-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Control
- Based on the new Honda global architecture, like the new 11th-generation Civic
The HR-V design includes a low horizontal beltline that begins with the enlarged hood and extends over the swell of the rear fenders, lending stature to the elegant flowing forms of the vehicle. The HR-enhanced V's breadth (2.6 inches larger) and broad-shouldered attitude are highlighted by wide-set LED headlights and taillights.
The total length has increased by 9.4 inches. An expressive grille at the front is flanked by air curtain inlets that guide air through the bumper and around the front wheels, boosting aerodynamic efficiency.
For a more premium appearance, laser-brazing technology eliminates the need for unattractive roof mouldings, and the windshield wipers on the HR-V disappear beneath the hood line when not in use. The sculpted hatch and standard tailgate spoiler underline the HR-aggressive V's proportions in the rear, while the outer edge of the taillights has been contoured to aid aerodynamics.
The new HR-V has a much stronger construction, a new independent rear suspension, and a larger, more responsive engine for a sportier driving experience. Like the 11th-generation Civic, the HR-new V's architecture is based on Honda's new global architecture, which allows improvements in ride, handling, and overall refinement.
Every 2025 HR-V is powered by a bigger 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine that produces 158 horsepower (SAE net @ 6,500 rpm) and 138 pound-feet of torque (SAE net @ 4,200 rpm). The new engine is more powerful (+17 horsepower and +11 lb.-ft. of torque) than the 1.8-litre 4-cylinder in the first-generation HR-V while also providing enhanced drivability, refinement, and fewer emissions.
The standard continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) has been redesigned to provide better power distribution, refinement, and engine sound. This new transmission is also more naturally responsive, thanks to better G-Design programming and the addition of Honda's 'Step-Shift' programming, which simulates gear changes when accelerating at full speed.
Technology has been cleverly integrated into the HR-V interior. For the first time, the HR-V has a digital instrument display, as well as significantly larger standard and optional colour touchscreen with standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto connectivity. A 7-inch colour LCD instrument display is standard on all HR-V trim levels.
The left side of the instrument panel features an all-digital speedometer and tachometer, while the right side features a conventional speedometer dial. The 7-inch multi-information display also includes user-selectable functions such as Honda Sensing® settings, vehicle information, and more.
The LX and Sport variants come included with a new 7-inch colour touchscreen. It has physical knobs for audio system volume and station tuning, buttons along the bottom for switching modes, and a simpler menu structure.
The new single-camera Honda Sensing® package of safety and driver assisting systems, first seen on the 11th-generation Civic, is standard on the HR-V.
The new system has a 100-degree field of vision, which is twice as large as the previous system's camera-and-radar combo. It can detect target feature points and distinguish properties of things like automobiles or pedestrians, as well as white lines, road borders like curbs, other vehicles, pedestrians, bikers, and road signs.
TJA and TSR are new features for the HR-V, as are more natural reactions for current features like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow and Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS).
